Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Character: Namine
Canon point: Canon-divergent post KH2. This is a Namine who was originally written for the All the Pieces fanfic which predates DDD's release. All canon information revealed post 2011 is not anything this Namine knows.

Canon intensity:

Kingdom Hearts doesn't really get in on the blood. But death and destruction sure are things. In AtP, I get a little bit more into blood and injury, because you can do those sorts of things in fanfic. Even then, AtP can mostly be described as "canon typical violence" EXCEPT for in a couple of specific instances:

• This is a Namine who at the theoretical age of 14 survived Castle Oblivion by the skin of her teeth, in a co-dependent relationship with the Riku Replica as Larxene abused them both and tortured Riku. Marluxia was also abusive and neglectful. And while the other Organization members weren't horrible to her in specific, they didn't help her either. Sora was her hope and she knew that was fake.
• Later, when everyone was afraid of who may harbor Xehanort in their hearts, this is a Namine who at 16/17 was discussing things like "I will kill you if it's you/please kill me if it's me and we have exhausted all other options" because they couldn't keep destroying the Remnants with no hope of an end forever.

World information:

Kingdom. Hearts. Are we fantasy? Are we scifi? Are we Disney magic? Who knows!! There's phones and cameras and spaceships and magical star shards that can transport her from world to world. She can form dark corridors for travel as well. She's part-replica. She can cast spells like Blizzaga and Thundaga, as well as Holy, and can shatter people's memories.

Namine knows of other Worlds and places, with varying degrees of magic and technology.

She's aware of alternate universes and has come into contact multiple times with one alternate universe in specific - the one where the Riku Replica was taken to be given a second shot at life, ultimately intertwining those two universes together forever.

(If we get into funny AU (of an AU) territory, she has also met people like YWKON!Jade and Mythra, as well as my OC Rinnie, who has also met AtP!Rinoa.)

Death exists and she's aware of it. She's not exactly sure how death applies to her though. She ages, however. She's 18(ish) now and has seen a good 3-4 years of saving the Worlds, (vicariously if not personally). It should be noted that she was "born" at like 14.

AU Information:

Canon-divergent Kingdom Hearts pre-DDD. The "events" of KH3 happened differently because as I was writing All the Pieces, it was "this is what I hope/think will happen in KH3."

All the Pieces: Sora and Riku became Keyblade Masters. Xehanort had Vexen make replicas of him to assist Xehanort himself to take over the Worlds/plunge them into darkness. Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Axel worked to stop that. Namine and Roxas became their own people by being made as part-replicas. Xion was rebuilt. Ven was woken up and Aqua was rescued from the Realm of Darkness. Everyone blasts Xehanort with so much light that Terra is also saved.

Betwixt and Between: Even with Xehanort gone, the darkness is still a problem and many Worlds are out of balance. Also, former Organization members Larxene and Marluxia are causing problems. Kairi, Roxas, Xion, and Ven are all training to become Keyblade Masters. Namine learns how to control her new powers and pushes the boundaries of what she can do. Axel finds the balance of just how much darkness he can use without damaging his heart. Also, now there's an Alternate Universe people keep winding up in!

Remnants: Remnants of Xehanort begin showing up around the Worlds, promising to make vessels and once again become a true person. The gang cannot actually kill a Remnant, only temporarily destroy them. They must rid the Worlds of everyone who harbors Xehanort in their hearts. While they search for who that could be, a Remnant makes a successful vessel of Marluxia. Larxene becomes so tainted by the darkness that she is another threat on the horizon. Eventually, Marlynort and Larxene are dealt with. The shreds of Xehanort are expelled and everyone can breathe easily at last.

About the character:

This is a girl who was “born” at 14 with magical powers to unchain and rechain memories; and forced to work for the Organization to mess Sora up so he would work for them too. Then, afterwards, she was forced by DiZ to work to put Sora back together again so he could save the Worlds from the remains of the Organization. That was traumatizing!

When she rejoined with Kairi, she thought that would be the end of it. She would complete Kairi’s heart and cease to exist. Except, that didn’t happen. She continued to exist, in the back of Kairi’s mind.

Following Xemnas’ defeat, Namine worked her ass off to get everyone to remember everyone else and lay the stage for Sora and friends to save the Worlds. She did this largely through Kairi. When she was presented with the opportunity to become her own person alongside Kairi, she took it. She hadn’t exactly planned to save herself alongside everyone else, but that’s how it works around Sora. She’s part-Replica now, with data filling in the parts of her heart that went to Kairi.

She does not have the ability to wield a Keyblade, but is fine with that. Funnily enough, one of her combos with Kairi involves her wielding multiple blades made of glass. As a funky side-effect of having the ability to see and affect the memories of anyone she is around, she has gained the ability to get glimpses of the future. She usually reconciles this through drawing.

Since becoming her own person, she’s helped save the Worlds too. She’s defeated Xehanort Replicas, Xehanort himself, Remnants of Xehanort, vessels of Xehanort, and so on. She’s also fought the likes of Sephiroth, Xigbar, Marluxia, and Larxene.

It should be noted that this girl had to work to piece together what winter holidays, birthdays, and weddings are. She technically has all of Kairi’s memories (and some of Sora’s) up until that moment Sora stabbed himself with a Keyblade to free Kairi’s heart from his own. She’s had a few years of practice but sometimes she will be like “what?”

She’s mostly come to terms with the harm she’s caused and is working to ease the harms darkness (or whatever) has caused throughout the Worlds. Not a lot phases her. She’s very good with magic, and keeps a knife on her for if her mana gets low/if things get too close-quartered. She can sometimes get an inkling of the future, but take her farther away from her home set of Worlds and we’ll see how well that still works!

Now that the Worlds have been saved several times over, she’s made a life for herself on Destiny Islands, though she’s starting to think about maybe going to other Worlds to learn more things. She wants to know more about magic and also about how the Worlds work.

She’s best friends with Kairi, Sora, Roxas, Xion, and Axel. Her boyfriend is Riku. She’s gotten closure with the Riku Replica and is glad that the two of them both got another shot at life. It’s the ending neither of them thought they’d get.

(She deserves rest and yet here we are for more horrors.)
